Freedom Celebration 2011!

Our Fourth of July celebration was fun and followed our tradition.. We went to a local parade. Then we went to my parent's house and got our pictures taken in our red, white, and blue. Then we played in the water and had a yummy BBQ dinner. Later that night my parents watched Paige and we took Carter up to the local highschool fireworks. We went with my siblings, but also ended up running into our good friends the Michels. We hung out, ate treats, and let the kids run around. It was great.

The next night (Sunday) which was the actual 4th of July, we had friends and family over for some store bought fireworks. The aerial fireworks just became legal in Utah this year so we bought a couple of those. When one of them was lit it tipped over and came flying towards us! It was so scary. I started to run inside with Paige and then I was like, "Wait, I have two kids! I have to get Carter too!" Scary. Scary. It gave me a small taste of trying to take care of my children if a disaster happened. I didn't like it!!

We had so much to be grateful for. Besides having the freedom and all the other privileges we enjoy, we had Paige with us this year. She was only two months old. Plus, my little Carter is getting bigger, and older, and is healthy. I am so blessed, and so grateful for all that we enjoy in this great country!
