Colby's endowment day!

Colby took out his endowments on Saturday July 26th. He took his endowments out at the Ogden Temple. Colby is leaving for the MTC on September 3rd then after his training he will be leaving for Baltimore, Maryland. (Watch out Baltimore!). I have included a ticker at the bottom of our blog that tells exactly when he will be leaving. I can't believe my little bro is leaving for a mission! Aren't missionaries supposed to be older than me?! Anyway, I am proud of Colby's decision to serve the Lord and go on a mission. Congrats Colby! We love you!

Pioneer Day!

For the 24th is was basically a normal day until Mark got home from work. We invited Amanda and Clay over for dinner and then Tim & Stephanie came over later for homemade ice cream. Chance and Carter played in Carter's frog pool and later we did some cheap (but fun) fireworks. We are grateful to have such good friends for neighbors. We are also grateful for our pioneer heritage.

We love our neighbors! (Johnsons & Rodartes)

Boys will be boys!

Carter loved watching the sparklers.

Camping at Tony Grove

Camping at Tony Grove - July 18-20

This year for our annual campout we went to Tony Grove. We had a lot of fun with our friends and family. It was especially fun having Carter with us this year, but it also created so much more work! Little babies require big amounts of supplies and accessories! Carter seemed to really like it and I think he will love the outdoors when he gets bigger. Our friends had their little girl with them that is one year older than Carter. She was constantly falling and getting covered with dirt. It gave me a little preview of what to expect next year! :o/

It was also Mark's 30th Birthday while we were there. I had Keli Ames (who's family also joined us) make him a cake as a surprise. The cake turned out awesome and he was definitely surprised! I can't believe my hubs is 30 years old! :)

On our way...

Carter & Olivia Wilde. She is one year older than Carter.

Tent construction... I picked out our tent for my 3 year gift from Flying J. We love it!

No bugs on me!

Mark with his surprise birthday cake.

First licorice tasting. It was successful.

Lookin' cute in Dad's hat!

Getting ready for his first canoe ride!

Um... this vest is squishing my cheeks!

Starting him out young

Carter looked, and was acting so cute today in this cute outfit (that I purchased for $3.00!) He has also been pulling this funny face lately. Mark and I introduce him to Disney whenever we can so that hopefully he will love it as much as we do.

I love Photobucket!

I am now addicted to photobucket! I got on it to create a slideshow and I found out that you can do all of these cool editing techniques to your pictures for free! Then you can get them printed and mailed to you. A 4x6 is only $.19! Notice the time that I posted... like I said, I am now addicted. Crap, as if I wasn't tired enough already!

Outfits & Airplanes

I wanted to post a picture of my all time favorite outfit of Carter's and show off his room a little bit. I picked out this cute sailor outfit for him before he was born. I got a really good deal on it from Gymboree and I even found the matching sandles at D.I. for $2.00! (They ended up being too big though). Also in the picture you can kind of see his crib bedding which is done in an airplane theme. My sweet coworker and friend Mari made the really cute pillow. She also made a quilt that matches. It is the perfect size and is so soft. He loves it.

My aunt Norma also made Carter a quilt and diaper stacker that had our last name embroidered on it. They turned out awesome and look so good in his room.

The little stuffed puppy was given to Carter at the hospital from Grandma & Grandpa Mellies.

Since I didn't have my blog when we were expecting Carter I also wanted to post a couple of pictures of his room. Mark painted airplanes all over the room and my mom got us a cute airplane shelf that matches perfectly. Mark was getting a little crazy and also painted on me...  you'll see...

The top of his diaper stacker.

The brown plane is especially for Carter. Since he was born  in 2008 it has an 08' on it.

This is were Mark got a little paint happy...
It really ended up being only 5 weeks to go!

Our new wallie!

I finally did it! I have been wanting to paint an accent wall in our house for a long time. I had never painted before so I was just trying to work up the courage to try it. My friend Amanda Johnson came over and helped me. Now that it is done I don't know why I waited so long. I love it! Mark's reaction is a funny story... when he came home only the basecoat was on. He hated it! I told him not to worry because it wasn't finished yet. He still wasn't convinced. The next day when Amanda and I were putting the glaze on he said, "I hate to admit it, but I like it!" Now he wants to show everyone our newly painted wall. Silly Mark.

Everything is Just Ducky!

Carter is getting so big that he almost doesn't fit in his bathtub anymore! He is a little over 4 months old and at his 4 month appointment he weighed 15 lbs. 9 oz. (75%), was 27" long (100+%) and his head was in the 25 %.

He is getting big so fast, but every day with him is more and more fun. It has been such a joy being a mom and watching him grow. He is so bright and learning so quickly. (He just started rolling over from his back to his tummy). I feel so blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby.
