Santa Pics. Good Times.

Well, the kids got to experience sitting on Santa's lap this year. What a silly but necessary tradition. Paige was of course scared of Santa at all times (Unless I held her while sitting on his lap, which is always... fun).

My mom paid for Carter and Paige to get their pictures taken by appointment at the Sears portrait studio. I got the kids all dressed up in their holiday gear and when we got there Carter would not move his hands from his face. He shut down and became shy and would have nothing to do with Santa. Then when it was Paige's turn she just cried hysterically. See pictures for example. After our unsuccessful trip to see Santa we went and walked around the mall. We went to See's for our free chocolate and sucker. The "mall Santa" was sitting outside of See's and I asked Carter if he wanted to see Santa as a joke. As we were leaving See's he told me he wanted to talk to Santa because he is no longer afraid. So, we waited in line and when it was his turn he jumped up on Santa's lap and told him everything he wanted for Christmas. I also sat Paige on his lap and because Carter was there she did not scream for a few seconds. The photographer snapped a perfect photo of them all together and they got their free coloring books and Chick Fil A kids meal coupons and we left.

So much for our well planned out "by appointment only" session. Good Grief Charlie Brown.
