Easter 2010!

Decorating Easter Eggs...

We had a lot of fun decorating Easter Eggs together as a family. Luckily, Carter was pretty content to just put the stickers on himself which eliminated a lot of potential mess. We had boiled the eggs just before coloring them and when he held one said it was "hot." That may have been what turned him off from it. Our eggs turned out pretty good! If only we had boiled them long enough so that we could have eaten them... Live and learn I guess!

Easter Egg Hunt....

The IHC Clinic in North Ogden usually does something fun for Easter. Carter got his first picture with the Easter Bunny there. This year they held an Easter Egg Hunt at a park in North Ogden. It was by luck that I found out about it. I actually went to the clinic because of a severe sore throat that Saturday morning. I got to the clinic at 9:00 and the Easter Egg Hunt was suppose to start at 10:00. I called Mark and told him about it and he said he would try and get there. I was done seeing the doctor and getting my meds by 9:45 so I headed up to the park. Mark wasn't there yet so I spotted my friend Natasha with her little girl Emma and went and stood by them. They had the hunt divided into age groups and there was eggs and candy EVERYWHERE. They blew the horn shortly after 10:00 and Mark had not yet arrived. I picked up a few pieces of candy a couple of eggs so that Carter could pick them up when he got there. Shortly after it started Mark and Carter arrived. Carter was able to pick to pick up a few things but we wasn't way into it. I think he was still trying to wake up! So, in total he probably had about a dozen eggs, while other kids had their baskets heaping full. In each age group was a "golden egg" and if it was in one of your eggs you won a prize. Well, one of Carter's eggs had the golden egg! I was so excited for him! He, on the other hand was just happy to get a balloon. The prize was a giant stuffed Easter Bunny. He later was giving it hugs and high fives. One of the fun things about it is that when I was little I won a big stuffed bunny from doing a coloring contest. Guess the bunny winning luck runs in the family!

Easter Celebration....

Because we would be in Las Vegas over the actual Easter holiday we celebrated it a week early. My parents invited us over for a yummy BBQ dinner, and then they had an Easter Egg Hunt set up for Carter and Garrett. Carter was much more into this egg hunt and was doing a pretty good job finding them. Once the hunt was over and we went inside Carter opened up his eggs and was loving all the treats. Some of the eggs qualified for a prize or "present" as Carter said. He is one spoiled little boy!

Happy Birthday Mom!...

My mom's birthday is on April 1st - the day we were leaving for Las Vegas. So we celebrated her birthday that night too with her traditional carrot cake and presents. Happy Birthday Mom!
