Indoor circus tent
My sweet little Carter turned 3 on February 22nd. The Saturday before we had a little friend party for a few of his close friends. He had a carnival circus theme. We played golf, had a bean bag toss, and had a duck pond game, and then we ate cupcakes. When we got done singing to Carter and he blew out the candle he said, "again?" then he started singing Happy Birthday all by himself until we joined it. It was so cute. He loves to sing. He got a bunch of fun presents from his friends and family.
He had had a little bit of a cough but was still acting fine on Saturday on the day of his party, but as time went on he got sicker and sicker. On his actual birthday (Tuesday) it seemed like he was doing ok during the day but later that night he looked and felt crappy again. We had gone to dinner and came back to our house for cake and presents. We had to bribe him to get him to open his presents and he didn't eat any of his cake. So on Wednesday I took him to the doctor and found out that he had pneumonia and a double ear infection. He has improved so much since he has been on antibiotics. I just feel bad that he had to be sick on his birthday! He rarely gets sick, so why did he have to get sick on his birthday?!
Luckily he is still young and didn't understand the whole aspect of his birthday. He knew he was turning 3, he knew he wanted to play the duck game, and he knew he was getting a "marble" (flavored) cake. (He kept telling everyone he was getting a marble cake...)
Happy Birthday Carter! I love you so much!
A few Carterisms:
- He loves to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and the ABCs
- He is into saying, "But I don't want to.."
- He is kind of a moody eater but he likes chicken nuggets, elf cookies, white cereals (Frosted Mini Wheats) and Apple Jacks. He LOVES apple juice and isn't a big fan of milk. He also eats bread pretty well and bananas.
- He loves to play games and do puzzles (with someone playing with him of course)
- He asks to go to "Mr. Toads" all of the time because they have mini golf and ski-ball there. (It is just called Toads)
- He loves to play at McDonalds playgrounds and always makes a friend while he is there.
- When he gets up in the morning he has to watch his "shows" complete with his blanket and pillow.
- At the doctor on the 23rd he weighed 32 lbs. Not sure what the percentile is on that but I don't want to pay another copay to find out!
- He asks to go swimming several times a week.
- He always lifts up my shirt and says baby Paige is in my tummy (We haven't decided on a name yet but that one is in the running). My belly button is now an "outy" and he pushes it in like it is a button.
- He likes to go to the grocery store with me most days and always asks, "What's next?" Then he starts listing things like onions, vegetables, etc. It cracks me up every time.
- He is a good little boy most of the time, and I couldn't be more blessed to have him in my life!
